PESTICIDE APPLICATOR TRAINING SESSIONS ANNOUNCED

Attention: Private Pesticide Applicator:

Certification is required to purchase and use restricted use pesticides. Private certification is not intended for commercial applicators. Certification programs include three hours of instruction and administration of the test, provided by the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. Permits issued are valid for five years.

The training manual for Pesticide Applicator Training may be purchased for $30 at Wood County UW-Extension, 400 Market Street, P.O. Box 8095 Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54495, 715-421-8440. If you would like us to send you a manual, please call us for the postage charge. Use this contact information to order the manual or to enroll in the certification class.

Wood County offers Fruit and General Certifications. While the manual and test differ for the two programs, the presentations are the same for both.

NOTE: For people who missed the training dates, you have the option of self-study. However, the standards on the test are higher for those participating in the self-study program. Contact Matt Lippert at 715-421-8440 to schedule a date and time to take the test.
